Question: How can I become a contributor on this site?

Answer: If you want to post embedded videos on this site you can become a contributor. It is simple two step process:

Step 1: Register for our site by clicking on register link in the MAIN MENU box. If you have already registered then you can skip this step.

Step 2: Check your email and click on the activation link. Your default access level is limited to “Author” but if you would like to be upgraded to “Editor” status please send us an email at bizdev[at]getticketsinc.com. Editor status gives you the right to update your profile, password and add events.

Step 3: if we accept you as a contributor, you agree to abide by our contributors terms and conditions.

Question: Will I be compensated for my contributions?

Answer: Yes we can consider compensating you for your contributions after substantial following is developed by your postings. No compensation will be considered for the first 6 months of contributions.

Question: Will my contributions be published on just one site?

Answer: No, by agreeing to publish your articles on our web sites you give us a world wide license to publish your articles on all the web properties owned by us as well as distribution through our affiliates. You as an author retain the copyright to publish your article at any other site that you deem fit. Your articles submitted to get Pakistan TV Blogs will be published at following sites among others:

Question: What happens if a legal case arise because of my writing?

Answer: As a writer you are responsible for any and all legal cases emerging because of your posting on our web site. We do not verify or authentic the contents published by you on our web site. You take complete responsibility for your writing. Please refrain from defaming any individual, company or writing about regulations or policies in your writing without concrete evidence in your procession to protect yourself from a law suit.

Question: I forgot my login/password info, how do I retrieve it?

Answer: No problem. Visit this link to retrieve your password.

Question: How do I change my password?

Answer: If you are a writer on our web site you can change your password by clicking on the profile link after you sign in to your account.

Question: Can I create a profile for myself as a writer?

Answer: Our writing contributors can create a profile by clicking on the profile link after you sign in to your account.

Posting Videos:

Question: How do i publih my video?

Answer: Log in to your account, then click on the post link in left column then click on Add new. This will take you to the posting window. The far right icon in the icon list is for video posting. Click on it.

Question: Can i embedd a video from youtube and other service providers?

Answer: You will need to use the URL from any of the video sites to publish the video. The embedd code will not work at this time. Posting through URL gives you more control.

Question: Can i upload a video file?

Answer: At this time we do not allow uploading of video files. But you can upload your video to any of the free sites like youtube.com, dialymotion.com, zshare.com etc. and then post it here through the URL.

Publishing Articles:

Question: How do I publish or post a new article?

Answer: Publishing article is easy. After you sign in to your account click on “Add New” link provided under the heading Posts. This will take you to the publishing wizard which is very user friendly.

Question: Why do I have to choose a category to post an article?

Answer: In order to organize the articles in a manner that they are easily accessible to our site visitors, we require all articles to be associated with one of the categories listed in the right side of the article publishing wizard.

Question: My new article is suitable for two categories, what should I do?

Answer: Unfortunately at this time we allow each article to be associated with only one category at the time.

Question: I dont see a category in which i would like to write, Can i suggest a new category?

Answers: Yes by all means, send your category suggestions to bizdev[at]getTicketsinc.com

Question: Can I edit an article after I have published it?

Answer: Absolutely. If you want to edit your article please sign in to your account and click on “Edit” link under the heading Posts in the left column. This will take you to the list of published articles page. When you take your cursor on to the article title you can see edit option underneath the title.

Question: What is the purpose of Quick edit?

Answer: Quick edit helps you change basic information about the article.

Question: Can I delete an article after publishing?

Answer: Definitely. Sign in to your account, click on edit link under the heading Posts. Take your cursor to the title of the article which will show you the option to delete it. WORD OF CAUTION: We advise you to save a copy at your computer as we do not keep records of any deleted articles.

Question: I saved an article as a draft, where can I find it?

Answer: Its easy to locate your draft. After signing in to your account, click on edit link under the heading Posts. This will take you to the page that lists all articles. The article that is in draft stage has an extension “- Draft” in its title. Click on the title to open the article or click on edit.

Question: I dont see all the icons in the publishing wizard?

Answer: In order to see all the icons in the publishing wizard please move your mouse on all icon and click on the icon that says “show/hide kitchen sink”. This will show you all the icons in the publishing wizard.

Question: How can I add a picture or a video to my article?

Answer: In the article publishing wizard there are many icons provided on top of the text writing box. If you take your cursor on top of these icons the text will appear to show the purpose of the icon. One of those icons is for image insertion. Click on image insertion icon. There are two ways to insert a picture:

(i) Upload a photo stored in your computer. Click on the Select Files to chose the picture from your stored files.

(ii) Or you can insert the URL of the picture you have seen on the web. Please make sure you give source reference to the image to prevent any copyright infringement arising from it.

Question: Can i embed videos from sites like youtube.com, dailymotion.com, video.google.com?

Answer: Yes you can embed videos from websites. Click on the icon that looks like a green staircase and says ‘insert/Embed Media”. This will pop up a small embed window where you can cut paste the URL from the video sites and click insert.

NOTE: For the safety and protection of your work we advise you to upload for images and videos to free online storage sites like youtube.com, dialymotion.com, zshare.net, google.com etc. and then insert those content through the link option. We do not guarantee that your uploaded images or videos can be available or protected.

Marketing your Articles:

Question: How do I generate traffic for my articles?

Answer: Tags, book marking and URL promotion are good ways to promote your writing.
(i) Tags also called keywords are intended for search engines to locate your article. Do not chose more than 3 or 4 tags for your article.
(ii) Include your blog in book marking sites like digg, stumbleupon etc.
(iii) Send URL to your friends, colleagues and family.
(iv) Create an email list and send your articles to them.

Plagiarism:

Question: What is plagiarism?

Answer: Plagiarism is a serious problem that is faced by many online communities. Following guidelines are used by our moderators and editors to mark an article as copy of an original work.
1. An exact or similar thoughts or language of another author.

2. Writing an article similar to another author while at the same time giving credit to the original author is still plagiarism.

3. Submitting an article in which the language and thoughts of another author’s work is paraphrased is considered plagiarism.
